The Grand Regular Lodge of Croatia admitted to the AAPM

New channels for intercultural and intergenerational dialogue
In December 2024 the Grand Regular Lodge of Croatia was formally admitted to the Association for Architecture and Masonic Heritage – AAPM for short (Association de l'architecture et du patrimoine maçonnique). The AAPM was founded as an association in September 2019.
At the meeting of the AAPM Board of Directors held on 25 March 2025, the Grand Regular Lodge of Croatia was unanimously awarded a Vice-Presidency on the Board.
A unique European cultural itinerary
The website “Routes of Architecture and Masonic Heritage” ( https://route33.eu/ ) is a distinctive European cultural itinerary devoted to the exceptionally rich and eventful history of Freemasonry. It builds upon the Cultural Routes programme that the Council of Europe has been developing since 1987 – routes which, as is well known, lead the traveller on a vivid journey through space and time, and through which Europe’s cultural heritage contributes to the fostering of human rights, cultural democracy and cultural diversity, mutual understanding and cross-border exchange.
At present the Masonic routes signpost some thirty Masonic sites – temples, libraries, private collections, museums and theatres. The project is focused on preserving and extending the reach of Masonic heritage through interdisciplinary dialogue, spanning the period from the 18th to the 21st century, whilst at the same time illustrating the cultural and historical influence of Freemasons across Europe.
The application to the Council of Europe for the certification of cultural routes conceived in this spirit is being submitted by the Grand Loge de France (GLdF) together with other European Masonic Obediences of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (REAA).
Structure of the website
By offering thematic itineraries, the website “Routes of Architecture and Masonic Heritage” (Routes d’Architecture et de Patrimoine Maçonniques, https://route33.eu/ ) opens up for its visitors a space of discovery in which the various artefacts of Masonic heritage are gradually revealed along selected geographical routes.
Each site presented on the platform is accompanied by a detailed description. This includes historical, architectural and cultural information, drawn from the documentary sources collected, which allows a better understanding of both the context and the significance of each of these places in the history of Freemasonry.
Interaction with visitors to the website
Readers thus have at their disposal articles, studies and publications on Freemasonry and its heritage – articles intended to deepen Masonic initiatic knowledge, but also to provide a reference base for all who wish to learn a little more.
A section devoted to news and events keeps visitors informed of conferences, exhibitions and other events connected with the history of Freemasonry and its heritage, making it easier for those interested to keep abreast of current initiatives and projects in this field.
The website encourages interaction with its visitors through a space for sharing their experiences. Users may also submit their own suggestions of other places of comparable significance which, in their view, deserve to be included in the heritage list.
Routes d’Architecture et de Patrimoine Maçonniques is, in the end, an educational platform dedicated to promoting and revealing Europe’s Masonic heritage. By offering reliably gathered and carefully prepared material, it plays an important part in raising awareness of this unique cultural heritage and enhancing its value – acting, at the same time, as one of the channels for intercultural and intergenerational dialogue.
